At A3BabyBarn we pride ourselves on our up to date knowledge and regular training regarding car seats.
There are many factors to consider when purchasing a car seat for your newborn baby. As this is a key item that every parent needs, to be able to bring their child home from the hospital, you may be thinking about an infant carrier which may or may not fit onto the pushchair you have or are thinking of choosing.
When deciding on a 0+ infant carrier (newborn to 13kg) there are many deciding factors – the first being whether you’d like it to fit onto the pushchair (for short-term flexibility), the weight and potentially being lie-flat.
In July 2013, a new Eu safety regulation for child car seats called ‘i-Size’ (ECE R129) was introduced to make them easier to fit, provide better side impact protection and most importantly keep children rearward-facing for longer. i-Size only applies to Isofix seats and are based on the child’s height rather than weight.
The staff at A3BabyBarn are trained by Maxi-Cosi, Joie and Cybex to advise in the use of and fitting of infant car seats. We can explain the new i-Size regulations, the benefits of extended rearward facing, and advise on what might be best for you. A useful website to check the law and find out how it affects you is www.childcarseats.org.uk
Because you can park right outside the A3 Baby Barn we will always check and fit car seats bought from us, in fact we will not sell a child seat unless we have checked it in your car. If you have bought your car seat elsewhere, for a £10 fee we will also check the fit.
We stock a wide range of car seats for children all of ages from birth until 12 from the leading manufacturers of Maxi Cosi, Joie, Cybex and Silvercross.
For all car seat enquiries, either pop down in-store to get expert knowledge, check the fit in your car and help with installation. Alternatively, give us a call on 0208 398 3114 or drop us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
